Stella Fisher

Obituary of Stella Fisher

Stella Helen Fisher (Janetta) nee Neduzak April 18,1928 - April 14, 2010 With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Stella at Riverview Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Pauline Neduzak, sisters Helen and Frances, her first husband Tony and son Jim Janetta. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Roy, sister Violet and sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Stella had a special place in the heart of Barb, Mona, Sandy, Grant, Jo-Ann, and Dana who spent many loving hours supporting her through her journey. Love and support was sent across the miles from Cheryl and Jamie. She touched the lives of her grandchildren Corinna, and Jeffery and their families, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Stella was born and raised in the Garson district before moving to Winnipeg as a teenager. She held various jobs prior to her retirement from the garment industry. She enjoyed many "crafty hobbies" and showered us all with her knitting, crocheting, sewing and ceramic creations. Curling, bowling and dancing kept her active and she thoroughly enjoyed her Bingo outings. Playing cards with her family, baking and cooking kept Stella busy until the loss of her sight. Her love of reading continued with the talking books from CNIB. The family would like to thank the Staff of Riverview Health Centre and her home care nurse Ann for their kindness and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 17 at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Reception to follow. Interment at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined, however donations can be made in Stella's honor to CNIB, or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
