Obituary of DOMENICA ARMENTI
Domenica Armenti
(Biondi)
December 28, 1926- January 23, 2012
Peacefully on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at Red River Place Nursing Home in Selkirk, MB, Domenica passed away at the age of 85. She was born in Castelpetroso, Italy to parents Delphina and Giuseppe Biondi. She lost her mother at age 2, during the childbirth of her brother Nick. She grew up, met and married her soulmate, Berardino, in Italy and later immigrated to Canada in 1952 with 6 year old son, Carmine.
She lived in Molson, MB where she raised her 2 sons until 1960, when the family moved to Winnipeg, where she continued her earthly journey. In 2000, failing health forced her to move into Red River Place, where she lived until her passing. She is now on her final journey home to meet her husband, who she has missed and loved, brother and mother who she has longed to see and other family and friends who left this world before her. Rest in Peace Nonna!
Domenica was predeceased by her husband Berardino in 1998, mother Delphina, brother Nick, father Giuseppe and step mother Josephine. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her sons, Carmine (Sylvia) and Luciano (Gloria); grandchildren Desiree, Devin, Jessica, and Brendin. Also left to mourn her are brother, Bruno (Carol), brothers and sisters-in-law Mike (Dora) Armenti, John (Phyllis) Armenti and Vanda Biondi along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Special thanks to the staff of Red River Place, especially nurse Sharon and aides Ugo (Ken) and Laura for the 12 years of wonderful personal care provided. Our family has greatly appreciated that.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, January 26, 7:00 pm, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, with Father Dado Parrenas officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2:00 pm at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue with Father Sam Argenziano officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations in Domenica’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
