Obituary of Heidi Hanischuk

HEIDI ELIZABETH HANISCHUK (Nee COOPER) (Formerly Lalonde) August 30, 1959 - March 20, 2010 Peacefully, on Saturday March 20, 2010 with family at her side, Heidi Hanischuk, beloved wife, mother, and friend lost her battle with cancer. Heidi was born in Barrie, Ontario the last and only female child of Ed and Jean Cooper who resided in CFB-Borden. Coming from a military family, Heidi moved numerous times along with her five big brothers between Calgary, AB and CFB-Borden, finally settling in Calgary in 1974 when her father retired. The next highlight of her life was the birth of her daughter, Julie whom she formed an amazing mother-daughter relationship with. In 1990, Heidi moved to Winnipeg it was only a short time later that she met and started dating, the love of her life, Roger. For the past 17 years, Heidi worked at Reliance Products where she formed many cherished friendships with her co-workers. Even though, the past nine months have been some of the most difficult in her life, she still maintained a positive attitude and made the most out of what she could. She will be sadly missed. Predeceased by her father, mother, father-in-law Harry and mother-in-law Anne. She is survived by her loving husband/partner of 20 years Roger, her treasured daughter Julie (Jason) Caron, her constant companion, best hugger and body guard Wally the Cat, her best friend of 30 years Irene Law of Calgary, her five older brothers "The Cooper Boys" and their families, her three step children, spouses and five step grandchildren as well as her extended family, close friends and friendly co-workers.
