Obituary of Olga HOLINATY
OLGA (OLLIE) HOLINATY (Nee IWASCHUK) November 6, 1921 - August 17, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother on Wednesday, August 17, at the Misericordia Interim Care Home at the age of 89 years.
Ollie was born in Winnipeg where she lived her whole life. Ollie worked for 32 years at The Hudson Bay Company at the Malt Shop, Paddlewheel, Sales Clerk and Customer Service in the Credit Office. Ollie enjoyed golf at Rossmere Golf Course and Kildonan Golf Course with the 60 plus group. Ollie enjoyed 10 pin bowling, curling, square dancing, bridge and travelling to Palm Springs each winter.
Ollie was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2003, and by her sisters Mary Hilderman, Polly Cornick, Helen Kyrniski and her brothers William, Alex and Mike Evans and Peter Iwaschuk. Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter Janice Barber of Minneapolis, MN, and her son Reg (Jan) Hall of Winnipeg, grandchildren; Heidi (Chris) Holmes of Minneapolis, Kari (Dave) Elshaugh of Salt Lake City, UT; James (Caitlin), Chris (Sharlene), Charles (Lesley) and Ainslea Hall (boyfriend Alain); great grandchildren; Alexi and Fallyn Holmes, Katia, Mia and Ella Elshaug, and Isaac and Oliver Hall; and numerous other family and friends. Ollie was a very loving and caring person who was passionate about her family. She looked forward to all the family functions as well as the Sunday dinners. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
As per Ollie's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
Always on our minds, forever in our Hearts.
