Obituary of Paranka HOLOTA

PARANKA (FRANCES) HOLOTA Peacefully on May 5, 2011, Frances passed away at the Poseidon Care Centre at the age of 83 years. Frances is survived by her daughter Anna (Martin) Scherpenzeel of West Kelowna, BC and granddaughter Angelina. She also leaves to mourn her Goddaughter Lily (Suzanna, Christina); sister Anne and other relatives in Ukraine. Frances arrived in Canada in 1948 and had worked over the years at the St. Boniface Hospital, General Hospital and lastly at the Rehabilitation Centre until her retirement. She enjoyed her time in her garden and yard. The last years were spent at Poseidon Care Centre as she suffered through dementia. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the 5th floor at Poseidon Care Centre for their care and compassion. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Polish National Cemetery, 400 McIvor Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Frances will be missed by her family and friends.
