Obituary of Nellie Hrynkiw

NELLIE (ANASTASIA) HRYNKIW (nee Dragan) On June 6, 2010 at the age of 88, Nellie, beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital. She will be sadly missed by daughters Pat (Glenn) and Janice (Brian); grandchildren Kristin (Rob), Meagen, Matthew and Josh; as well as sister Stella; brother Jerry (Lynn); brother-in-law Carl (Eleanor) and numerous nieces and nephews. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Walter; son Jim; parents Anne and Steve; stepmother Mary; sister Jennie and brother Frank. Nellie was born and raised in Winnipeg. A chance meeting introduced her to her future husband Walter during a dance at the infamous "Crabby Steves". They went on to marry and enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. Nellie had a brief working career, before dedicating her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and sisters. She was a kind and gentle soul, and the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main at Inkster. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m., also at Cropo Chapel. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Nellie will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched, and her memory will live on forever.
