Obituary of Sam JAKUL
SAM JAKUL 1922 - 2008
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the children announce the passing of our wonderful father.
Sam was born in Winnipeg, he began his career with his brother Peter in the painting and decorating business. In November of 1942 he entered the Armed Services, "100th Canadian Army Training Centre."
He then began his 40 year career as a Certified Avionics Technician with Air Canada, retiring in 1983. Sam was a life member of the Grand Lodge of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #141. His interest in Technology and Electronics found him designing, engineering and developing a number of devices throughout his life. He truly was a Jack of All Trades and a Master of Many. Sam was a brilliant man.
Sam met his life long love Florence while they were students at St. John's, they married in August of 1941 and spent 67 years together. Sam and Flo had 3 children and with them family always came first. He was a great man, husband and father.
Sam was predeceased by his parents, John and Katherina his brother Peter and recently his loving wife Florence.
He was loved by all his friends and all his family. Sam will be missed and remembered always.
Dad, your caring for family and unselfish ways will be rewarded in Heaven. Now you and Mom will have everlasting love for all eternity. Thank you for being our Dad.
Sam leaves to mourn his children, Sharon and Larry Kelln, Linda and Rolly Leblanc, Donald and Kerri Jakul and Rosemarie Jakul. His grandchildren, Barbara, Bradley, Cheryl, Cindy, Michael, Jennifer & Christopher, great grandchildren Ashley, Amanda & Taylor.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Reverend Father Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM will officiate with interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
