Obituary of Clarence Kell

Clarence Kell (Kelly) Our kind and gentle father, grandpa and friend passed away peacefully on July 30, 2008, with our dear Auntie Annie by his side. Dad was born in Winnipeg on Oct 12, 1920 to Fred and Dolly Kell. He was also predeceased by his brothers John (Dorothy); Bill, and George (Helen) and sisters Freda (Michael) Scheel, and Irene (Richard) Peterson. Dad was predeceased by his wife Marie (Husiak) in 1990 . During dad's life he served with the PPCLI in England, France, and Germany. On his discharge he secured a position with Canada Post where he was a letter carrier for 30 years. Passions in Dad's life were camping with his trailer at Detroit Lakes, Minn. and Winnipeg Beach. Later on, Mom and Dad enjoyed holidaying in Hawaii where they met many friends. Dad also had a strong passion for music and dancing. He spent many weekends at the Selkirk Legion or wherever his favorite bands were playing. Leaving to cherish his many loving ways are his children and grandchildren; Gerald (Donna) Kell, Paul and David (Tracy) Kell; Saundra (Garry) Dukelow, Kirsten(Saynor), Kelsey and Kurtis; Deborah (Jim) Hendricks, Dyland, Delaney, Cassidy and Caine all from British Columbia. Dad was predeceased by his father and mother in-law Michael and Katherine Husiak, brothers in-law Roy, Bill, Harry(Rose) and Felix Podaima. Survived by sisters in-law Polly(Oscar) Huppe, Anne Podaima , brother in-law Lawrence(Joanne) Husiak and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at 600N Bethania Personal Care Home. Especially Doris, Jack, Bev and Inga. A big appreciation goes out to Vesna for her attempts to have Dad join their many outings. Thanks to all those who aided in Dad's care. I know he truly appreciated each and everyone of you. Our family would also extend a thank-you to Aunty Annie for her endless support and to Al Sturney for all he did with and for Dad. Service will held Tuesday Aug. 5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
