Obituary of Olga Krause
OLGA KRAUSE (BOBROWSKI) June 16, 1923 - March 5, 2010
Peacefully on March 5, 2010, Olga Krause passed away at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 86 years with her family at her side.
Olga was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Gustav Krause, her parents Adolf and Helene Bobrowski, her son Kurt who died in infancy, her sisters Erna Seifert, Elsa Groth and Adele Ross and brothers-in-law Rolf Groth and Werner Seifert.
Left to cherish her memory are her nieces Gisela Walker ( John), Regina Eyssens ( Richard) Carmen Matthews ( David ) nephews Horst Krause ( Irene ) Ed Groth, Randall Groth ( Bev ) Ralf Seifert, Derrick Ross, Brent Ross , brother-in-law Victor Ross, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Olga and Gus immigrated to Canada from Germany in January of 1950 and settled in Morris, MB. She lived and worked in Morris until their move to Winnipeg in 1957 where she worked for Progress Candy until 1981and then for the Hudson's Bay Co. until her retirement.
Olga took great pride in her role as housekeeper and caregiver to her family. She was a talented cook, baker and seamstress passing much of this knowledge on to her nieces. Olga and Gus loved to visit the neighbouring communities throughout Manitoba each summer attending the country fairs and exhibits. She loved to work outdoors and in her gardens. Her vegetables were always magnificent and freely shared, her flowers a spectacle to behold and there was very little she didn't mend, fix or paint. Olga was a gentle, loving woman who drew strength and comfort from her faith. She was loved by many and liked by all who knew her and we will miss her.
The family would like to thank all the caring staff on the T3 ward and throughout the Deer Lodge Centre where she was fortunate to spend her last several years. The kindness and gentleness the staff showed Olga was evident in her contentment and greatly appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Olga's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation.
A funeral service will be held on Monday March 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. and interment at Brookside Cemetery.
