Obituary of Joan BN
Joan A. Kupchak, RN BN
June 21, 1945 - May 11, 2011
On May 11, 2011, Joan Kupchak passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 65.
Joan is predeceased by her father, John, in 1997, and mother, Jean, in 2010, as well as her infant sister, Elizabeth.
She is survived by her brother Harold (Joan), three nieces, Alana (Michael) Park, Kristin (Jason) Usselman, and Paula (Emmanuel) Hall. She also has six cherished great-nieces, Julianna and Carmen Park, Genevieve and Jocelin Usselman, and Eve and Violet Hall.
Joan was born in Winnipeg in 1945, and grew up in East St. Paul. As a young woman, she decided to become a Registered Nurse, later completing her Bachelor of Nursing. Joan's career brought her around the world to places such as Kuwait and China. Although she loved nursing, research and teaching, her greatest love was children. A small child always brought a smile to her face, and she loved that her work made a difference for ill and injured children. After her retirement, Joan spent most of her time caring for her mother, who she loved dearly.
A celebration of Joan's life will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Narol, Manitoba, 5819 Henderson Hwy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Joan's memory be made to the Health Sciences Centre of Winnipeg.
