Obituary of Janet La Liberty
Janet Dolores La Liberty
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet on October 30, 2008, at the age of 41 years.
Remaining to cherish her memory are Vasilios Metallinos (Billy), her Husband and soul mate for many years; her parents Ron and Anne La Liberty; her sisters Alice (Mac) Taylor, Veronica (Gary) Dyck, Wendy Neault, Susan (Murray) La Liberty, Colleen (Jason) Harder; her brothers Joe (Diana) La Liberty, Keith (Karen) Horn, Todd (Rochelle) La Liberty, many nieces and nephews, cousins, countless friends, and her mother Pat Hunter
Janet was predeceased by her Nanny, Patricia Leveque.
Janet was born in Winnipeg on March 28, 1967 and grew up in the North End. She attended Luxton, St Johns High and Tec Voc. After high school, Janet pursued a variety of interests but was most happy when she was able to turn her love of carpentry into a career. Whenever there was a need, she was well known to offer her woodworking services to family and friends.
As a child, Janet was always bringing home various critters to care for and this continued on into her adult life. She rescued many animals (which finally totaled 28) and loved all of them. She kept her heart and home open to them all the time.
Friends and family have always been very important to "Jay". She truly valued the laughter and stories created and shared when people came together. She especially loved fishing and creating 'special' memories with Billy So... from our hearts to yours "Ba Bye" Jay Love you and see you soon!
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 5, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will follow on Thursday, November 6, at Cropo Chapel, at 2:00 pm. A private interment will follow at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Yanchishyn, Mac Taylor, Todd La Liberty, Joe La Liberty, Keith Horn and Sky Bridges. If friends and family so desire, donations in Janet's memory may be made to any (Non Kill) Animal Rescue Shelter of your choice.
