Obituary of Allan LESCHYSHYN

ALLAN MICHAEL LESCHYSHYN AUGUST 13, 1945 - APRIL 20, 2011 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Allan Leschyshyn at the age of 65. He is greatly missed by his soul mate and loving wife Wanda of 24 years, "Sons" Scott, Ronnie (Chrystal), Jason (Natalie). To survive his legacy are his "pride and joy" grandchildren, Tana (his Little Helper), Jaylie (his Princess), Bryson (Lil'man), Brookie (Poodles), Taylor (Tay-Tay), Jordan and Joslyn. Also survived by daughters Louanne (Jeff), Donna and brother Don. Special thanks to nephew Steven (Amanda), Sean (Little Buddy) and Emily (Pipsqueak) for all the love and the laughter, and to numerous other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Pearl Leschyshyn, father William Leschyshyn, brothers Wayne and Leo Leschyshyn. Al was born and raised in Arborg, MB and as a young man made his way to the big city of Winnipeg. He had numerous jobs doing construction work up north until he found his true passion for Ironwork/Rigging, which took him to many locations throughout the province. Al was a great worker and mentor and shop steward to all his young apprentices. He was most proud of his windmills in St. Leon. In 1987 he found by destiny his "poor girl with a golden heart", Wanda, and that's when he said his life truly began. They moved to Stony Mountain, MB in 1994 and married July 12, 1997. He was a "doer". Al could fix, make or build anything. His pride of home was clearly seen by all that knew him. He was a creative and energetic soul whether it was indoors or out. His skill and love of cooking for his family was where he really excelled. Meal times and family gatherings were his enjoyment. He loved the laughter and fun. He spent almost every Thursday at Kaye's auction house looking for deals for us. You could always count on him. He was an exceptional man of his word. Never a stone left unturned. Christmas was his favorite time of year. He spent weeks preparing our home inside and out, but mostly he enjoyed watching his grandchildren here at Christmas. He took them to every room and turned on every light or ornament just to watch their little faces light up. Al was just three weeks away from retirement where he planned on spending most of his time at the cabin or on his boat fishing with his grandkids. We all got fishing poles last Christmas in preparation for this event. His mark on our world will be sorrowfully missed. LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE His soul was destined for greater things. He would have never left us. We must trust the Universe. The family would like to thank friends and family for all their love and support in our time of grief. A celebration of Al's life will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Wpg., MB. A private interment will follow at a later date. If desired, donations may be sent to Siloam Mission in his honor.
