Obituary of Anne LISOWAY
ANNE LISOWAY (nee MATIATION) March 30, 1932 - April 23, 2008
Encircled lovingly by family, Anne, matriarch, mother, mentor and friend passed on to her eternal home.
Anne leaves behind a legacy of love with her four children Bill (Nancy), Terry (Don) Kovacs, Debbie (Jack) McKay, and Tom (Giselle); as well as 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers Steve, Wally (Colleen), Mervin (Barb); her sisters Stella (Wally) Kaluznick, Rose Kopetski and Sophie (Bill) Begal. She will be lovingly missed by her sisters-in-law Olga and Stella Matiation, Helen Lisoway, Jean Young and brother-in-law Mike Lisoway.
Anne was predeceased by her loving husband William Lisoway, mom and dad, Sam and Mary; brothers Andy and Mike; brothers-in-law Jake Kopetski and Robert Lisoway.
We will always remember her as a hard working, spunky, loving woman with a huge heart. She shared her Ukrainian cooking expertise, with all the women in the family who were willing to work along side her. She lived a precious two years longer than any expected, she laughed hard and loved much. She was beloved! Although there is much sorrow upon her leaving us, there is much joy and peace knowing she is now without pain and worry, washed clean in glory among family and friends who have gone ahead.
Many thanks to granddaughter Jenny McKay - Baba's workhorse. You blessed your Baba and all of us with your service and love.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
