Obituary of Ryszard Majkrzyk
RYSZARD MAJKRZYK
(January 11, 1943 - July 26, 2011)
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of beloved husband, father and grandfather Ryszard Majkrzyk on July 26, 2011 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by wife Maria, daughters Beata Kozak (Andrzej) and Ilona Niemczyk and grandchildren Julia Kozak, Gabriella Niemczyk and Matthew Kozak.
He also leaves to mourn his passing his sister Helena Sajdak (Marek), brothers-in-law Stanley Jaworsky (Charlotte), Marian Jaworski (Irena), and Michael Jaworski (Bernadette) as well as nieces and nephews Roman Jaworsky (Lisa), James Jaworsky, Ania Zoledowski (Stan), Marek Jaworski (Erin), Dorotka Jaworski (Rafal), Adam Sajdak, Tomek Sajdak, Stanislaw Majkrzyk, Aneta Majkrzyk.
Ryszard was born in Siadcza, Poland and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada with his wife and daughters in 1977. He was a devoted husband and caring dad who worked hard to make a good home for his family. Ryszard was a talented and skilled tradesman working as a bricklayer for over 45 years. During his career he worked on various projects across Germany and Canada and went on to open his own bricklaying company. Ryszard was active in the Polish community becoming a member of the Sokol Polish Gymnastic Association in 1985 and holding various executive positions for many years.
Ryszard enjoyed many things including golf, hockey and the outdoors but what he enjoyed most was spending time with his grandchildren. They spent many hours together playing outside, going for walks, sharing stories, telling jokes, doing puzzles, and watching sports. Ryszard was a wonderful grandfather and a strong, supportive, good-natured person who was liked by all. He was always ready to help others, giving his time freely and never expecting anything in return.
We will never get over the loss of his presence in our lives. He will be deeply missed. Prayers will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 7:00pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10:00am at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
Pallbearers will be Roman Jaworsky, James Jaworsky, Marek Jaworski, Stan Zoledowski, Chris Zaremba and Rafal Miroslawski.
