Obituary of Adelaide McGAVOCK
ADELAIDE ELIZABETH McGAVOCK
Peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 our cherished mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, Adelaide 85, took the final step in her journey to " The Father's House ".
She leaves to mourn and forever cherish her memory - sons Dennis (Sharon), Tim (Anita) - daughters Christine (Ron), Mary-Anne (Garry), Maureen (Joe) and Kathleen (Pete), 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is survived by brothers Wilf (Ann), Art (Jackie) and sisters Marj (Harry) and Eleanor (Bill).
Mom was born and educated in Winnipeg. After marrying our dad Vincent, she embarked on her career as a homemaker; one from which she never retired. Once she finished her Bachelor Degree as Mother, she went on to complete her Master's Degree as Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Even with such a heavy course load she was able to find some precious time for herself - playing cards, bowling and socializing with friends and family. Our mom was one who opened her heart to others and never thought twice about giving of herself. She was a wonderful warm-hearted person whose generous spirit positively touched the lives of all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Ave. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
To My Family
I go from you gently for it is my time To take the next step In this journey of mine. Don't grieve for me long. I've not left you alone For I will be with you In the love we have known. That love is forever And some day when it is time You will join me again On this journey of mine Anonymous
