Obituary of Ada MILLAN
ADA TEENIE MILLAN
(Nee Kulbaba)
A kind and gentle soul has left us. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ada Millan on July 13, 2008.
Ada was born December 13, 1921 in Sandhill, MB, the fifth child of eight siblings to Marko and Pearl Kulbaba. She attended Sandhill School and as a young woman moved to Winnipeg. While in Winnipeg, Ada met Harry Millan. Ada and Harry were wed on May 8, 1943. Together they had many happy years as they enjoyed travelling, camping and raising their two daughters. Ada spent her younger years waitressing, moving on to work in the catering industry, where she later took on a supervisory role. She continued working in the catering field until her retirement.
Ada was a hard working woman who always put the needs of others before herself. She touched many people with her generosity and giving spirit. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. Simple things in life made her happy. Time with her family and making holiday dinners were always special. She loved tending to her little garden just to have some green onions, fresh lettuce and a few red tomatoes.
Ada will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her daughters Cherylene Sawatzky (Bob) and Roxanne Burton (Darren), grandchildren Melanie (Geoff), Chantelle, Amber (Jason), James, Alijah and Andrew, great grandchildren Travis, Tessa and Harrison, sisters Minnie Kundel and Myrna Wensel (Alex) as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Waiting for Ada to join them is her loving husband Harry, parents Marko and Pearl, sisters Dorothy, Evelyn and Lena, and brothers Mike and Harold.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 590 Alverstone Street, Winnipeg, with Fr. Nestor Yakiwchuk officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take time now to spend with your loved ones. You never know what the next moment may bring.
