Obituary of Ronald MILLS

RONALD MILLS On Friday, October 17, 2008, Ronald Mills passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Ron was born in Wales in 1936 and came to Canada as a child. He settled in Winnipeg and entered Military Service in 1952. Ron was an active volunteer with Judy Wasylycia-Leis, North End Seniors Coalition, Dufferin Residents Association, Turtle Island Community Centre and Mamawi. He received a Volunteer Award from Fred Douglas Lodge for his services there. As a member of St. Martin-in-the-Field Church he assisted with cooking for the lunch bunch. He cooked turkeys for the Fall Suppers and was the Building Maintenance Co-ordinator. Ron also sang in the choir and served on the Parish Council. Ron was a resident at the Polish Manor until his admittance to hospital. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 27 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Martin-in-the-Field Church, 160 Smithfield Ave. with The Rev. Canon Bob Webster and The Rev. Mary Lysecki officiating.
