Obituary of Thomas OCHARUK
THOMAS WAYNE OCHARUK
December 23, 1943 - July 4, 2008
Tom's family is sad to announce his passing on July 4 following a hard-fought battle with gastric cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Darlene, his sons Darren and Brad (Stephanie) and his much-loved granddaughter Sarah who never failed to make him smile. Also left to mourn are: his sister Patricia Quint, his brother Robert and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother David and sister Helen.
Tom was born in Winnipeg and spent his entire life here. He started working part-time for Canada Post in 1959 while still attending school, then proceeded to full-time. He retired in 1998 after 39 years of service.
Special thanks to Dr. T. Fatoye and his staff and colleagues at Kildonan Medical Centre as well as all of the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital who did their best to make Tom's final days as comfortable as possible.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully declined. If anyone so chooses, Tom's family would appreciate donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba or your favourite charity.
