Obituary of Lidia OLCHOWIK
LIDIA OLCHOWIK
1920 - 2009
Lidia passed away peacefully on September 16, 2009.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1974.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Teresa and Edward (Alexandra), her grandchildren Tania, Christine (Jared) and Peter.
Lidia was born and grew up in Poland. As a young woman she helped her father to work and run the family farm. Lidia married Czeslaw in 1947. Her entrepreneurial spirit has saved the family during many hard times first by beekeeping and later by operating a strawberry and black currant farm. In 1977 Lidia moved to Canada to start a new chapter in her life.
She enjoyed her new home and made new friends. She was very proud to become a Canadian citizen. She loved designing and creating her own clothes. Lidia was intelligent, brave, hard working, artistic, practical, and witty. She was the binding force and anchor of her family.
Mama we thank you for the countless hours you have devoted to your family and for always being there for us. We will always cherish our Sunday gatherings and your stories. We will love you forever and miss you always. Rest in Peace.
