Obituary of Stella PARADOWSKI
STELLA PARADOWSKI
1915-2010
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and friend Stella Paradowski on March 15, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband Jan, daughter Adele Fulcher, grandson Jon-Paul, parents Anthony and Victoria Rabiniak, sisters Wladyslawa Dudarczyk, Anna Killian, and brother Wladyslaw Rabiniak.
Stella came to Canada in 1956 joining her husband in Winnipeg who had immigrated a year earlier. She was employed by the CBC and her retirement years were spent enjoying her grandchildren and following their achievements.
She was a devout member of Holy Ghost Church for over 50 years. Even when she was unable to attend services, she avidly read the weekly Sunday Bulletins. She never missed an opportunity for a good card game and always had her winning change ready. She also enjoyed knitting and always finished her day with a cup of tea. Although her last 3 years were a struggle, she met the challenge with great strength and dignity.
Stella is deeply mourned and remembered by daughter Mary Fiorentino (Joe), son-in-law Bill Fulcher of Minnesota, grandchildren Anthony, Lara (Brian) of Minnesota, Lisa (Eric) of Montreal and great grandchildren Grace and Chloe. She will also be missed by brother Edmund Rabiniak, sister Mila Plucinska, nephews and nieces in Poland.
We would like to thank the Jablonowski family for their kindness and support throughout the years. Also gratitude is extended to Stella's companions Rowena, Tracy and Danuta who were at Stella's side during her journey and to the dedicated staff of St. Paul's unit at Holy Family Home and to Dr. Babick for their care and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with viewing hour prior to service. Interment will take place in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations may be made to Holy Ghost Church or to the charity of their choice.
Rest in Peace, Mom
