Obituary of Dragica Paulic
DRAGICA PAULIC (Nee KALIC) November 4, 1922 - March 22, 2009
Peacefully, with family by her side, following a brief illness, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Dragica Paulic at the age of 86 years.
She will be sadly missed by her four children, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Son Martin (Kate), grandchildren Michael, Martina, and Marko; son Mate (Dragica), grandchildren Mike (Angie), Anita (Bryan); son Pave (Milka), grandchildren Mike (Anita), Tomislav (Joclyn), Ivan, Paul, and Kati, daughter Maria (George) and grandson Steven. She will also be missed by her great grandchildren Dane, Milan, Adam, Gabrielle, Cody and Danika and many relatives from Croatia, Argentina, U.S.A. and Australia.
Dragica was predeceased by her husband Mile, parents Mile and Kate, brothers Vinko and Mate and sister Bare.
Mama was born in Batnoga near Cetingrad, Croatia. After the tragic death of her husband, with three young children, she moved to Canada in 1970 to join her eldest son, where she has lived since.
Mama worked at the Museum of Man and Nature for many years, where she made lifelong friends, retiring in 1987. She looked forward to her U.S. excursions with her friends but her happiest moments were spent with her children, grandchildren and precious great grandchildren.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday, March 24 at 8:30 p.m., with the rosary to commence at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main Street, with Rev. Robert Polz officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her loving grandchildren.
Special thanks to nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
Death leaves heartache that does not heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
