Obituary of JOSE Da COSTA

JOSE MAXIMO DA COSTA It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband and father Jose on February 27, 2012 with his family by his side at the age of 87 years. Jose will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Maria Otilia; sons Adelino and Joe; brother Luis (Emilia) in Winnipeg; brother Joao (Angelina) of Toronto; sister Leonore; and brother Angelino of Sao Miguel, Portugal. He had many nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Agostinho of Toronto in 2011. Jose was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and immigrated to Winnipeg with his wife in 1962. He worked for CNR for 28 years until retirement in 1990. He was a hardworking man, and loved to care for and be with his family. He had a passion for his garden. He will be remembered as a loving, good hearted and caring soul. The family would like to thank Dr. Shaw and Dr. Smith and all the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for all their care. The family also want to thank all immediate family and friends for all their care and support. Prayers will be held on Friday, March 2 at 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
