Obituary of Jose PEREIRA
JOSE LUIS PEREIRA
November 30, 1935 - May 16, 2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and accidental passing at his workplace, of our father Jose Luis Pereira.
Jose was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, where he married his beloved wife, Maria. He lead his family to Canada with very little and made a modest and good life for them, he was a hard working caring man who put his family first, he was also a cherished and beloved Grandfather that never missed a special game or event, he is terribly missed by his Grandchildren.
We are so fortunate that God let one of his own live in our presence for as long as he did. He taught us that you didn't need wings to fly. He grew old and strong with knowledge, but not old enough to leave us just yet. God just so happened to need him, and on Friday, the Angel went up to Heaven, to join his own kind, including his beloved wife, Maria. Just because he's gone, doesn't mean he's gone, he's still here, heart and soul.
Jose was preceded by his wife Maria De Lourdes a loving father to his sons Joe (Edith) and Dan (Brenda) and his four grandchildren that brought a smile to his face Troy, Tory, Samuel and Daniel ; sister Luisa (Viriato) Couto niece and nephew Alda and Carlos, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews in Winnipeg and in Fall River, MA as well as Sao Miguel, Azores, that were there for him. We love you and will miss you terribly. Rest in Peace.
Prayers will be held on Thursday May 22 at 8:30 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 23 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Very Rev. Fr. Jos Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
