Obituary of Jack Porth (BANIK)
JACK KELVIN PORTH
(BANIK)
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the sudden and tragic death of our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend Jack Kelvin Porth (Banik).
Left to mourn Kelvin are his ever loving Mother Darlene, his brother and special friend James (Carrie), his loving niece Serena and his "little guy" Baby Bradley, his sister Pamela (Chris) and children Nate and Raena, half brother Jonas and sisters Shanda and Kristina and their children, his grandmother Evelyn Porth as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kelvin was predeceased by his father Jack, step-father and friend Peter, grandparents Arthur and Phyllis Roche, grandfather Jack Porth (Sr.), cousin Ian Roche and uncle Alvin and many relatives and friends.
Kelvin was born September 17, 1967 in Gimli, MB. He was a joy to the family being the first grandchild on both sides of his family. He loved animals and always had his dog Sandy by his side. He welcomed his baby brother James born exactly two years after him and then his baby sister Pamela born a year later.
Kelvin loved being around his nieces and nephews. A great big smile would come on their faces when they saw each other. Baby Bradley and his special little girl Serena loved their uncle very much, he was the best uncle in the world "Love you Uncle".
Kelvin grew up in Riverton, MB, where he leaves many lifelong friends, who know who they are. He loved nature and always felt at home at Finns, the family homestead. He loved riding dirt bikes, motorcycles, ski-doos and also loved biking. He was an excellent mechanic who loved to tinker and fix things whenever he felt like it or whenever his brother and him had a project to do.
Kelvin had numerous jobs in his life. He was en engineer on Lake Winnipeg with the Goldfield and Muk, travelling to northern fish stations to pick up the commercial fisherman's limits. He also worked in Winnipeg at different construction sites and lumberyards and cabinet plants. He volunteered at his church and loved visiting people there.
Kelvin had alot of friends around his area including special friend Doreen and friend Dennis. He loved spending time with his friend Dave and loved going to work in Hecla with Dave. He enjoyed going to Stewarts to work on vehicles, fishing with Kenny on Lake Winnipeg and working on the house with Uncle Ray.
Kelvin loved watching the news on TV, movies, reading the newspaper, and spending time with friends. He also enjoyed his bike rides with his brother and dog Bret. He was always with his little buddy Ruff and was till his death.
Our family is in shock over his death and will never get over it. He left us with a great legacy of hope, determination and to never give up.
Special thanks to Dr. Krcek (uncles Surgeon), Dr. Jones, Kim and Melanie at CancerCare, his special visits from family and friends and all the gifts and goodies along the way. Whatever food he received he always put together a little care package for the nieces and nephews. To everyone who came to our aid Thursday, Thank-you. Mom, watch over our Charlie until we all meet again. "Love you my precious Son".
"We love you so much Son, Brother, Uncle" "Rest in Peace Brother, I Love you, Kelvin"
"Now I lay me down to sleep If I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take."
