Obituary of Michael Repchinsky
Michael Repchinsky
Michael, born June 13, 1953, passed away on June 21, 2011 at age 58, surrounded by family after suffering a stroke on Father's Day.
Predeceased by his father Walter in August, 1962, he is survived by his wife Elaine and son Colin in Winnipeg, mother Moyra, sister Susan and brother Eric in Calgary, sisters Laurel, Deb and brother Robert in Edmonton, brother Kim in Sidney, BC and their spouses and children.
Michael persevered through multiple medical issues with the diagnosis of Anklyosing Spondylitis in his 20's. He was fortunate to be in the hands of several caring physicians over the years, none more so than his family doctor, Mark Kristjanson. Elaine and Colin truly appreciate Mark's attention to detail and determination to see that Michael get the appropriate care when needed. Our thanks seem inadequate.
Michael retired in 2005 having spent 25 years as a clerk and supervisor with the Federal Government in the Post Office, Revenue Canada, Customs and Health Canada. He was a busy retiree keeping active at the gym, weekly walks with Prairie Pathfinders, cycling, snowshoeing and Nordic walking at Fort Whyte and playing pool with his Safety First teammates.
Aside from his family, Michael's great loves were books, music of all genres, anything electronic; enjoyment of these pastimes was passed down to Colin.
We would like to thank the Winnipeg Fire, Paramedic and Ambulance Services for their prompt response, the physicians and staff at HSC Emergency for their timely diagnosis and the compassionate staff of Seven Oaks Emergency and Ward 5u5.
Cremation has taken place, his ashes will be scattered by Elaine and Colin at a later date. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 11:00am, with a reception to follow at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
Michael was an avid supporter of the Salvation Army and donations in his memory would honour him greatly.
Much loved, deeply mourned, taken far too soon.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Michael
