STEVE RODZONIAK (STEPHEN)
1924-2009
Peacefully on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, Steve Rodzoniak passed away.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Betty Nykyforak (Mervin), Judy Hawrychuk, Jane Yakimishyn (Paul), Mildred Kopec (George Sr.), Lawrence Payjack, Charles Payjack (Janet), Patricia Payjack (Allan Striowski), Rosemarie Hamel (Rolly), Joseph Payjack (Allison Reeves), Frank Normand Jr. (Dorothy), brother-in-law John Payjack, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his father, Nicholas Rodzoniak (1960), Uncle Mike Knish (1994), sister Pauline Westlake (1996), mother Ksenia Rodzoniak (2002), sister Anne Payjack (2006) and nephew Russell Hawrychuk (2006).
Steve was born December 16, 1924 in Weirzhowiecz, Poland. He grew up in Narol and St. Andrews, MB.
Steve worked with his parents on their farm in St. Andrews raising cows and chickens growing wheat and market vegetables. While on the farm he also worked with a section gang for the CNR. After he and his mother left the farm, they resided Winnipeg. Prior to retiring, Steve worked at Flyer Industries. In 2006 Steve moved to Middlechurch Personal Care Home and then to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home. The family appreciates the excellent care given to Steve by the staff, while he was a resident at the Middlechurch and Bethania Personal Care Homes.
Prayers will be held on Friday, November 6 at 8:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Chapel with Father Pierre Wood, O.F.M.,Cap. officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's memory to a charity of one's choice. Memory Eternal
