Anna SEVOKYN

Obituary of Anna SEVOKYN

ANNA SEVOKYN January 15, 1923 - January 5, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Sevokyn at the age of 87 at Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her loving husband Ivan in 1990. Anna was born in Ukraine and endured many difficulties during and after the second World War including the loss of her family and hiding in attics and other places to avoid detection. After the war Anna ended up in a camp in England where she met and married Ivan Sevokyn. For five years they worked in the cotton mills. They then emigrated to Canada and chose Manitoba as their new home. Although they never had children, they were close to the children of their friends and treated them as their own. The Storoschuk family was particularly close to Anna. Special thanks to Anna Storoschuk and numerous other close friends who cared for Anna's needs after Ivan's death up until now. Anna was a faithful Witness of Jehovah. She dedicated her life in 1952 and remained steadfast in her devotion to God until her death. She looked forward with confidence to the fulfillment of the promise of a resurrection to life in the new world as stated at Revelation 21:3,4. Funeral service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 with viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be following the service.
