EFFIE SOKOLUIK
It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother, Effie on January 7, 2010 at Holy Family Home at the age of 96 years.

Surviving to cherish her memory are daughters Mary (Roy), Betsy (Vic), Jackie (Jim), son Gene (Regina), daughters-in-law Nancy and Brenda along with 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Effie was born June 11, 1913 in Parkerview, Sask. It is there she married Metro in 1931 and together they farmed and raised their family till they retired to Winnipeg in 1967. Effie was a wonderful mother and Baba to her entire family. Her greatest joy was in preparing her many family feasts during festive or holiday visits. In addition to her family Baba was deeply devoted to her church which she attended till her passing. The Sokoluik family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staff at Holy Family Home, St. John's ward, for their wonderful care they provided Baba during her 4 year stay with them.
