Obituary of Gordon SPENCE

GORDON EARL SPENCE On Friday, February 11, 2011, Gordon Spence passed away with his family by his side at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 74 years. Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife Marie, sister Regene, brother Malcolm, and parents Hector and Alfie. Dad leaves to mourn his daughter Kathryn, son James (Glenda), daughter-in-law Tracey, grandchildren Tabatha, Tiara, and Ericka, 6 great-grandchildren as well as a very large extended family and friends. Gordon worked for Manitoba Hydro for 37 years, working all over the Province. Before retirement he built his house at Gull Lake. Spending time with his family was very important to him, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and many outdoor sports. Gordon and Marie enjoyed taking trips south with their trailer and also playing cards, going to the casino and dancing. Word cannot express our gratitude to the staff at Resid�nce Despins for their love, compassion, and caring they extended to dad and our family. They created a new home for him. They went above and beyond all our expectations. Also thank you to his family physician Dr. J. Werier for his many years of wonderful care. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A private interment will take place at a later date.
