Obituary of Anne Stafford (SCHICK)
ANNE ROSALIE STAFFORD (SCHICK)
On September 21, 2010 at Stonewall Hospital, Stonewall, MB, Anne Stafford, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 85 years.
Annie is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth and Kathy (Mark) of Gimli; sons Laurie (Helen) of Selkirk, Larry (Fay) of Winnipeg, Lyle (Kathy) of Vancouver, Peter (Brenda) of Stonewall and Don (Arlene) of Stonewall; twelve grandchildren, Sherry, Dian, Jordan, Jared, Sam, Ben, Tyler, Hanna, Ellen, Casey, Jay and Emma; four great-grandchildren, Jason, Sydney, Ethan, and Jacob; sister Emma and brother Alfred (Mable).
She was predeceased by Peter Lorne, brothers Bill and Tony Schick.
Our mother was born January 18, 1925 in Bayard, SK, raised on a farm with brothers and sister, mom Elizabeth and father Gottfried. She thrived, and as a beautiful young woman came to Winnipeg to visit her older brother. Here she met and fell in love with our father Peter Lorne. They married on September 18, 1949 in Spring Valley, SK. Over the years seven children were blessed to have a loving, devoted protector and nurturer that was our mother Anne. She comforted us many times and was always there to kiss away our hurts when we reached for her. As adults she inspired us with her strength and courage. We know God blesses and welcomes her as the great woman, mother and lady we will forever cherish. "Love, your children."
The family would like to thank the Rosewood Lodge and Stonewall Hospital for their care and support.
A Memorial Service was held on Friday, September 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Anne
