Obituary of Ronald STUPAK
RONALD D. STUPAK
In loving memory of our brother, Ron, who passed away suddenly on August 29, 2009, at the age of 71.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his brothers Alvin(Beverley), Audie(Jadzia); nieces Cheryl(Alf Weber), Wendy(Barry Fadden), Angela Stupak, six great nieces and nephews and many relatives and good friends. Also his daughters, Dolores Steffensen, Diane(Mark Prydun), granddaughters Tianna and Natassia Prydun.
Ron was predeceased by his soul mate Nina Iwaniw(2004), his parents, Mike(1986), Annie(2005), infant sister Adeline(1937), niece Debbie Chubinski(2003).
Ron was born on the farm, March 28, 1938 in Green Oak, MB. During the flood of 1950, his family moved to Winnipeg. His first job was with Esso. Later he worked for C.P.R as a Morse code operator, Teletype operator, plant, and equipment technician. In 1992, he retired from Unitel.
Before and during his retirement Ron and Nina traveled to many countries. Ron's favorite activities were dancing and horse racing. Ron was President of the Vince Leah whist club, member of the crib club, President of the former Singles Club 66, member of C.P. Tel Mixed Curling at Deer Lodge, Transcona Men's Curling, Fort Garry Senior Men's Curling. He also took part in bowling and golf. Hole-In-One, May 2, 2000, Blumberg Golf Course, 3rd Hole.
In Oct. of 2008 Ron was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer. Special thanks to Dr. M. Dillon, Dr. A. Dell Pizzi, CancerCare MB - Dr. J. Johnston, Nurse Erin Elphee. Ron appreciated the excellent care he received.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday Sept. 4, 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Father Kevin Smith officiating. Following lunch, interment will be at Transcona Cemetery, Dugald Rd. and Perimeter Hwy.
