Obituary of Eva WENESZ
EVA DONNA WENESZ
After a lengthy illness, Eva Donna Wenesz passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the age of 62.
She was born at Riverton, Manitoba on September 21, 1945. She is survived by her husband Miklos (Mike), sons Michael and Donald, brothers George (Ann), Bruce (Jo-Anne), and sister Susan Oktaba (Bill) as well as foster sisters Margaret Chuckery (Matt) and Georgina Legere (Johnny). She also leaves behind to mourn her many nephews and nieces, a large extended family and many dear friends.
Donna was predeceased by her father Howard and her mother Eva in December 1956, and by foster parents Albert and Edna Ruthven. Donna always considered it a special blessing that she was loved by a physical family, a foster family, and a large spiritual family.
Donna was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 10, 1970. She derived much pleasure by explaining her beliefs to others. There were numerous scriptures that comforted her. Among these were: Isaiah 33:24 - "And no resident will say 'I am sick'", and Revelation 21:4 - "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore". She now sleeps in death awaiting the promise of the resurrection as found at Acts 24:15.
Mike and Donna were known for their hospitality. Their many friends and family always enjoyed a good meal and card game. Her favorite hobbies were cooking and gardening. Her life revolved around her family and her faith.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends for their many acts of kindness and support. Dr. Doug Henry and the Home Care workers and nurses also warrant special thanks for their diligent care.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall, 227 Lakewood Blvd. on Sunday, June 29 at 6:00 p.m. with Raymond Weiler officiating. Dinner will be served after the service. Donna will be cremated and her ashes interred at Mountainview Cemetery with her parents in Thunder Bay.
