Pat was born April 24, 1927 in Beausejour, MB, the second son of Carl and Rita Westran. He joined the Navy at a young age and was a World War II veteran seeing action in the North Atlantic on the frigate "Prestonian". Pat met and married Audrey Aldous in Princeton, BC in August of 1949 , shortly followed by the birth of son Bob and daughter Sharon.
