Obituary of GEORGE P. STREWCHUK
GEORGE P. STREWCHUK
February 27, 1933 – September 3, 2011
Our beloved father, partner, and grandfather passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on Saturday, September 3, 2011.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving life partner Eva, his two sons Barry and Roger (Karen), stepson Brent, his sister Valerie Bailey, brother Roy (Karen), his 3 grandchildren Dawn (Dave), Randy, Samantha and 2 great grandchildren Dayna and Deklan as well as several nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his father George, mother Helen, sister Marion, brother Fred, and brothers-in-law Gary and Clayton.
George was a unique man, if you met him, you never forgot him. He was very strong willed, kind hearted and his love for his family was second to none, together with being very passionate about donating to his choice charities.
George was in the construction industry his entire life, his major accomplishments being a supervisor on the building of the Trans-Canada Highway, the Winnipeg Floodway, North Main pollution plant, Selkirk water reservoir and numerous other projects. He was famous for creating work at home projects, which involved his sons and grandchildren, with George at the helm doing what he does best, supervising.
We would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassion and care given to George in his final hours.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
George was a great influence to us and he will never be forgotten. You are now pain free and able to rest in peace.
We love you "honeybunch", dad and Gigi and will miss you with all our hearts.
A Memorial Tree was planted for GEORGE
