Obituary of ANNE STOYKO
ANNE STOYKO
Peacefully, in the early hours of Monday morning, September 19, 2011, Anne Ciwko Stoyko passed away, with her loving husband, Paul, by her side. Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and soon to be great-grandmother.
Anne was born April 14th 1922. She was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers, Joe and Walter.
Anne will be deeply missed by her children, Dianne (Jim) and Bob (Donna), 5 grandchildren, Jared, Nicole, Ryan, Cody and Hanna, several nieces and nephews.
On July 18, 1942 Anne married the only love of her life, Paul. They were devoted companions whose 69 married years were full of socializing, dancing, and volunteering at Holy Family Nursing Home and Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Her most memorable moments were spent with family in Washington State or Colorado. Their Falcon Lake summers were always filled with lively socializing, card-playing, and of course, cooking. Anne and Paul loved spending time with their children, their children’s wide and varied social circle, and all the young friends their grandchildren happened to bring by. Anne drew comfort and peace from her steadfast Catholic faith, and she was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage as a singer with the Ukrainian Soloveyky.
A passionate and generous cook, Anne enthusiastically shared food with friends, neighbors, and the many, Home Careworkers who assisted the couple in recent years.
Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
