(nee SMOLUK)
1931 - 2011
With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Helen Slobodian on Monday, September 19, 2011 at Riverview Health Centre.
Cherishing her memory are her children Val Munson, Ed (Diane) Slobodian, Gord Slobodian and Rosanne Witko. She will also be lovingly missed by her grandchildren Michael (Lisa), Jim (Shannon), Brittany, Richard, Kelly, Corey, Michelle; great grandchildren Dylan, Brooklyn, Nevaeh, and Lilah. She also leaves to mourn her longtime friend and companion Alex Lasota and sister Olivia Feeny.
She was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1969; her parents Sophie and Stanley; sisters Josie and Mary; brothers Tony, Frank, Bert and Bill.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre for their warm and compassionate care.
Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. with Prayers prior at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Munroe Ave. and Watt St. with Rev. Dr. Michael Kwiatkowski officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre.
