It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Nellie on December 10, 2013.
Nellie is survived by her children, Arthur, Finlay, Alex, Debra (Ronny), Brenda (Kevin), Charlene (Leo),
John (Sheila), Keith (Chasity), her 2 grandchildren she raised, Lesley (Lisa) and Leslie (Stephanie) and her
grandchildren and great grandchildren, her niece Lois, nephews Kenneth and Chester, her
special friend Alex McKenzie (common-law) and numerous other relatives and friends.
Nellie was predeceased by her husband Donat, sons Lawrence, Leslie, Ronald and Deryk, sisters
Maryann and Susan, and daughter-in-law Nancy.
Nellie was born March 7, 1922 in Crane River, MB. She worked for the Winnipeg School Div. # 1 at
Machray Elementary School as a teachers aid for 20 years and then retired when she turned 65.
Her favorite pass times were spending time with her family, playing penny bingo and cards, she loved
watching her wrestling. She was also a founding member and life time honorary board member of the
Freighthouse Community Centre, where she was an active volunteer and board member for many years.
The family would like to thank Dr. M. Perez and all the homecare staff for all their assistance in the care
of our mother.
A visitation /service will be Monday, December 16 at 11:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
