JEAN BALOS
Peacefully, our mother Jean Balos, passed away on December 25, 2013 at Oakview Place at the age of 98 years.
Jean is survived by her daughter Irene Varnes (Gerry); son Gordon (Marion); grandson Greg (Jodi); great grandchildren Justin, Jessica, Sara, Stewart and his mother Karen (Murray); nieces Diane, Josephine, Florence, Victoria and their families.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Stephen; her grandson Gerry Varnes Jr.; her parents Adam and Josephine Woychuk and her sisters Bertha, Mary, Steffie and her brother Bill.
We would like to express our gratitude to Mom’s very special friend Marion Saunders; the neighbours in the area and her home care workers. A special thank you to Dr. Anne Kong for the wonderful care, affection and attention she gave our mother. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Oakview Place. The love, care and unconditional support Mom and our family received will be forever remembered.
A Celebration of Mom’s Life will be held at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt St. and Munroe Ave. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St. Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or a charity of your choice.
