Obituary of GERALDINE MARGARET HUNTER
GERALDINE MARGARET HUNTER
1944-2014
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Gerry (Geraldine) Hunter on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the age of 69.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Tammie Chateauneuf (Dan) and Jodie Hunter (Pat); grandchildren Jessica, Cole, Victoria, Kylie; foster grandchildren; Adam, Ty and David; siblings Linda Clark (Doug) Jo-Ann Kozakowski (Garry); her nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her mother Martha, father William, brothers Wayne and Larry.
She lived selflessly, always worrying about others. Gerry was not one for grand gesture it was the little acts of kindness that helped everyone daily in their lives. Gerry loved to laugh and had a sharp wit.
Gerry was an active member on the tenancy board at the building in which she resided. She enjoyed organising and hosting annual events for the residents, such as; the spring tea, Christmas dinner and New Year’s parties. She promoted active living within the building by holding weekly exercise classes, shuffle board tournaments, horse shoe tournaments, bingo nights, cribbage tournaments and the Hockey pool. In the summer months she organized BBQ’s and yard sales for the residents. Gerry’s baking was sought after by many friends, they would show up at her door with ripened bananas asking her to please make them one of her delicious bananas loafs. This is something she enjoyed doing for her friends.
We wish to thank her caregivers, in emergency and in the I.C.U. at Seven Oaks Hospital. Their patience, compassion and willingness to help were appreciated more than words can say.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to: The Canadian Diabetes Association.
