STANLEY ZBINGIEW SIUDY Our deepest heartfelt sorrow for the loss of our father Stanley Zbingiew Siudy at his home on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Prayers will be said on Friday, January 31 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with interment to follow in the Holy Ghost Parish Cemetery. IN loving Memory Stanley Zbingiew Siudy Our deepest heartfelt sorrow for the loss of our father, Stanley Siudy. He was born on June 28, 1929 and passed away January 28, 2014 at 4:00 am from cancer at his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Stanley was 84 years of age. We will always remember what a strong devoted family man he was as well as his gentle nature, his respect for others, entertaining stories and steadfast faith in God. Our dad’s signature was his extraordinary passion for music. His beautiful violin playing along with the sound of his strong and cheerful voice will be sadly missed. Employment history: Worked as a Journeymen Electrician in Winnipeg at Canadian Pacific Railways. Hobbies: Playing the violin in the seniors band called "Natural" and reading the dictionary to expand his vocabulary. Learning to use an apple computer at 84 years of age. Watching Polish TV to connect with his heritage. He loved to exercise and take care of his mind and body. He loved to take long walks with his wife and always went swimming at the near by pool when he still could. He loved to work with his hands and repaired many things in his life time. He loved to travel to Poland to visit his family. He was always working on a project either on his car or around the house. When he was 82 he bought a computer and took a course to lean how to use it so he could stay current. He even picked up a few odd jobs after his retirement to stay busy. Betty, Halina and Joanne’s Fondest Memories of Him: When he took us to Banff National Park in his new Cutlass Supreme. Our family trip to his birth of place in Poland. Spending the holidays at the Gornik’s for Christmas. Painting Easter eggs for our baskets to be blessed at the church. Riding on his many motorcycles. His trip to Vancouver with Mom to help Brad and Joanne with a new business. His beautiful smile and laughter that would light up any room he was in. His strong belief in God. His strong belief regarding his children's education. Our family trips/picnics to Grand Beach, Winnipeg Beach and St. Malo with our cousins, Grace, Sam and Terry and Uncle Albert (his best friend). The sweltering hot summer days where we all helped him paint and renovate his houses. His need for a perfectly organized tool kit. Joanne and Brad’s wedding and Mark and Halina's wedding. His countless visits to Kenora to visit Mark and Halina to babysit Eva, his gandaughter. Reading his book of prayers and praying with the rosary. His collection of designer caps. His classy and polite manners. His strong work ethic. Paying for his children's education. His love and commitment to his family. Stanley is survived by his wife Thersa Siudy and his three daughters; Joanne Blakley (Brad), of Cochrane Alberta, Halina Bandur (Mark), of Kenora, Ontario, and Betty Siudy, of Winnipeg Manitoba. As well as his grandchild Eva Bandur, sister Celina Gornik, of Winnipeg Manitoba, and his two brothers in Poland, Wtodek and Lucjian A special thanks to the people who through their actions, showed Stanley their genuine kindness, humanity, but most importantly LOVE during his life and his last days. Special note from Joanne Blakley: Stanley, my father, showed just as much courage and strength in life as in death. He never complained or felt sorry for himself. He was our family's rock and the head of the household, a model human being. He was our pillar of strength when withstanding the depth of human suffering. His memory will live in our hearts forever. Dad "You were the best" father and husband any one could ever ask for. We will all miss you more then words can say. After spending the last four months of his life with him I noticed Dad had dreams of seeing a picture of his mother with whom he never knew. She died during the war in Poland. He never got to fulfill his dreams of knowing his mother or traveling to exotic lands filled with the sun, sea and sand. But he did meet the women of his dreams "our mother", his wife Teresa, and married her later in Poland. They stayed married for 55 years because of their values and love for family and one another. Our memories of your essence will live in our hearts forever. The human spirit never dies. Till we meet again DAD! May you rest in peace. A special thank you to Palliative Care for their support and guidance. A very special thank you to Betty Siudy for her loyalty, never ending care, devotion and strength during a very difficult time. Also, a thank you to Halina, my middle sister and Brad Blakley for helping us care for Dad over the Christmas holidays. A very special thank you to, Gary and Sam Belecki our extended family in Calgary Alberta, "There love never wavered".
