Lea and family, I am shocked and saddened by your loss. Dean was and will continue to be remebered by me as a happy, intelligent, astute, generous, loving and talented individual. I will forever remember his infectuous smile and laugh. His courage was evident by his passion for all things meaningful. I knew Dean for only a short period of my life, but all of my experiences with him were rewarding and memorable. As he helped me through some very difficult times, I regret that I never got a chance to thank him for his patience and support. I will be donating to the music fund in his memory. The world has truly lost a gifted and noble man, and much, much too early.

I've worked and golfed with Dean for a number of years. Dean was a great golfer - you could clearly see he had a passion for the game. He was also a very fast walker and hard to keep up with. Golfapalooza will not be the same without you Dean. My sympathies to Dean's family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Dean's passing, I have been engaged with Apptius as a sub-contractor to the organization for a number of years. My sincerest condolences to his family. Dean was a great guy to work with, gave me opportunities that I don't believe I would have had otherwise had, kicked my butt when I deserved it but with each opportunity we started with a fresh slate. I was shocked to hear of his passing and we have surely lost a gifted colleague and friend. Being president Dean never missed replying to an email or taking the time to provide guidance on matter. So sorry for your loss.

My most sincere condolences in the passing of Dean. I will remember him as a trusted friend and colleague, and will miss him as an occasional squash partner and a superior mind in computing and business. However, I am certain that Dean will be most missed by his lovely wife Lea and their children. So sorry.

What can you say about one of the nicest guys we ever knew. I recall the first time I met Dean & Lea in their office at Pembina and Grant. I walked in looking for a computer programmer for the Canadian Canola Growers cash advance program. We struck up a deal that lasted for many years. Dean drove out to Carman several times a week. He didn't always have time to go for lunch, he was so committed. We managed to get in a few golf games from time to time in the summer, but he was always committed to his enterprise. It was such a pleasure to see Dean, Lea and their family at my induction ceremony last summer. It meant a lot to us. We think of Dean and family every time we drive down our lane here in town when we pass the red barn mailbox at the end of the lane that they gave us when we retired into Carman. Dean we will miss you greatly.

I first met Dean back in 1979 at Bemidji Band Camp! We quickly became friends. He had a great sense of humor. After camp we became pen pals for all these years. We would write letters back and forth until we changed to emails in the 90's. I would visit Lea and Dean in the years to come and they would visit me in Minnesota. I am grateful that I had Dean as a friend all these years. On Saturday, I will bring a dose of American Air to my Canadian friend. (We would always exchange our "countries air" in our letters) I will miss my Canadian Pen Pal. My Condolences.

Although I just met Dean for the recent 2014 Techapalooza gig, we shared some great “in the grove” musical moments. Super great guy and my sincerest sympathies to his family and friends.

My condolences to Deans family. He will be dearly missed. I meet Dean when he join the 252 Legion Band. He proved to be a talented musician, and a wonderful person, a great addiction to the band. I am glad I had the opportunity to have known him.

I first met Dean through Apptius, where I work as a contractor, and shortly thereafter I worked with him again in a different role as a trumpet player for the first Techapalooza band I played in (I play trombone). I played in the horn section with Dean in that band for three years, in all its various permutations, as well as the 252 Legion band. He cared about his music, and I believe that it had become a more important part of his life in the last few years. He told me after a practice that he was finally getting back to where he was years earlier with his trumpet playing. He worked really hard in practice with a quiet focus and work ethic I respected, and had beautiful tone. He had just joined another big band, excited to have another playing opportunity; I was looking forward to hearing back from him about how that was going. We are all so sad and shocked at his passing. I know at rehearsals I'll be looking over to the trumpet section expecting him to be there. I'll miss him.

Having played beside Dean in the 252 Legion Band for the last few years, I would like to say what a pleasure it has been to get to know him with his always affable and easy-going personality, and warm smile. He has been a reliable and impressive trumpet player and we will truly miss him. It is hard to believe that such a good and friendly soul is gone.
