GENOWEFA PIOTROWSKI 1919-2014 On Sunday, March 9 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Genowefa, surrounded by family and clergy passed away peacefully at the age of 94. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Richard (Wanda), Christine; grandchildren, Andrea, Mark(Christine), Steven ; great grandchildren Landen and Adelaide; and one brother in Poland. Genowefa was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2000 following 53 years of marriage, her parents, two sisters and one brother all in Poland. Genowefa was born on June 13, 1919 in Kielce, Poland. She met and married her husband Frank in Germany in 1946. They immigrated to Belgium shortly after and there raised their 2 children before immigrating to Canada in 1953. Genowefa was employed by Dominion Tanners for 31 years before retiring. She was a member of St. John Cantius Church for 61 years where she sang in the Polish Choir. Her faith was reflected in her life, her work, her joys and sorrows. With her husband she enjoyed fishing, gardening, walks in the mall and socializing with everyone she met. Although small in stature, Genowefa leaves a large impact on family, friends and neighbours. Prayers and viewing to take place at St. John Cantius Church, 846 Burrows Ave. on Saturday March 15 at 12:00 followed by Mass of the Christian Burial at 12:30. Monsignor Jaworski, Father Gamallo and Father Laciak officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. The family wish to thank the 911 Response Team, the doctors and nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, Monsignor Jaworski and respite workers for their care and compassion.
