Obituary of GRACIE ANA ELIZABETH HERNTIER
GRACIE ANA ELIZABETH HERNTIER
June 19, 2006 – March 16, 2014
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our sweet baby girl Gracie. Her beautiful blue eyes captured our hearts the day she was born. Gracie was a very charismatic child whose presence touched everyone she met. Gracie was a caring, happy, delightful, forgiving, and inquisitive child. She loved to sing, dance, play piano, guitar and entertain family and friends with her detailed make up tutorials. Gracie attended St. Andrews School where she made countless friends from grades 1 through 6. Gracie will be greatly missed by her grade two teacher whom she loved and admired. Gracie attended daycare with her special buddies Connor, Savannah, and Sydney from the very young age of 9 months old where they were all loved and cared for by Terry and Brian.
Gracie was passionate about her family. Her best times were spent surrounded by the people she loved and adored. Gracie loved ALL animals especially her three dogs Blacky, Mango, and “The Mexican”, Chi-Chi. Gracie spent countless hours with her dogs teaching them how to read and write, she never gave up on them.
Gracie loved to spend time at mom’s work talking with staff and reminding Dr. Ricardo that he saved her life when she was six months old. The best part of her visits was sharing a popsicle with one of the nurses on duty.
Gracie loved spending Saturdays with her dad where they would attend her ballet and jazz classes, then do lunch at her favorite restaurant the Olive Garden in Transcona, followed by her favorite pastime “shopping”.
On Thursday March 13 Gracie and her dad went on an outing to the central police station where much to her delight she was given the opportunity to see all the Winnipeg Police Service vehicles.
Gracie’s memory will live on through the hearts of her biological mother, Jacklyn Herntier and two sisters Leigha and Nevaeh, her parents Tony and Ana Herntier, her uncle Terrance and Tia Jill (family pets Jersey and Piper), great grandmother Maria, great aunts Maria (John), Olivia (Chad), Ivonne, Laurie (Winston), great great uncle Denis (Rita), great uncles Carlos (Debbie), Joe (April), Jack, Sterling (Carol), Ted and Murray, cousins, Sandy (Gil), Bruce, John (Michelle), Nicole (Matt), Ashley, Tyler (Alyssa), Ryan (Janelle), Chase, Brenden, Justin, Tammy, Noah, Ethan, Bella, Keira, Finley, Sadie, and Mateo. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous extended family members including those in Brazil and Portugal.
Her honorary aunts and uncles include: Fil and Joe, Max and Debbie, Audy and Carol, Mike and Cindy, Sandy and Gil.
Gracie was predeceased by her great grandparents Gracia, Raymond and Augusto.
Special thanks to the pallbearers; Gil, Noah, Ryan, and Brenden.
We as a family have been humbled by the outpouring of support shown to us from family, friends and the kindness of strangers. Special thanks to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedics, Children’s Hospital, Winnipeg Police Service and Springfield RCMP detachment for their valiant efforts.
The family would like to acknowledge the Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation for their kindness and generosity.
