Obituary of JUDY VENIER
JUDY VENIER
(PARKIN)
May 3, 1952 – March 13, 2014
After a personal battle with breast cancer mom passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital. She was surrounded by her family until the end.
She was predeceased by her father Frank Kuchma in January 2002.
She will be dearly missed by her son Bryan (Keri), daughter Melanie (Denys), her beautiful grandchildren Rori, Jesse and Mason; mother Anne Pomanski, sisters Shirley (Bob), Cathy (Allen), brothers Kenny (Michelle), Ron (Diane), and her many nieces, nephews and friends that she cherished dearly.
Judy was born in Winnipeg at St. Boniface Hospital and has lived here her whole life. Mom had many jobs in her life, Perth’s Cleaners and Hudson’s Bay Company to name a few but it wasn’t until she started a small catering business with her friend Louise that she found her true calling as a restaurateur of sorts. In 1988 she took over Barney Gargles in Selkirk Manitoba and alongside her sister Shirley built it up to the success it is today.
Anyone that knew Judy would know how much she loved to entertain, the hours that she put into decorating her house at Christmas because it was her favorite time of year will never be forgotten. She was a most generous lady and would have given the world to her children and grandchildren if she could have. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she will be greatly missed by them. She enjoyed many summers out at the cabin with her family and friends. (Bel Air, MB) Judy’s children plan on setting her ashes free out by the lake where she was truly at peace by the water.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
In compliance with Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her family plans to have a private celebration of her life.
“Love you to the moon and back Mom and Grammy xoxox”
