JOSEPH PETER SOLENIK
September 30, 1952 – April 1, 2014
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Cousin, Joe Solenik, 61, on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre.
He was predeceased by his father, sister Helen, grandmothers and an uncle.
Joe is survived by his mother Janina Kozlovskis, sister Lucy Page of Winnipeg, sister Annie Crowder and family of La Verne, California, niece Melody Crowder-Meyer (Doug) of Tennessee, nephew Austin of Memphis, nephew Joshua of Virginia, aunt, uncle and cousins and nephews here in Winnipeg.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by all for his kind, quiet, considerate nature and his witty sense of humour. He will always be remembered as our “Gentle Giant”, loved by everyone. We miss you already Joe and your sweet smile.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. A private family interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a quiet prayer in Joe’s memory.
