Obituary of VERA JURAS

VERA JURAS October 3, 1957 - May 1, 2014 Vera was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in 2006 and defied the survival odds thanks to clinical trial drugs and medical teams in both Australia and Canada. Throughout she continued to work, make plans and engage others. Her life was not always easy but her resilience was amazing. She moved to Australia in 1987 and created a life for herself including being a second mom to Kevin, Sam and Jesse which brought her great joy. Vera returned to Canada last spring. She became a very good support to her Dad this past year and we teased her about returning to Winnipeg to experience the coldest winter in 100 years. She reconnected with friends and family in Winnipeg including her nephew Taylor who loved visiting because Vera would watch cartoons with him and provide candy. As per her wishes, there is no service and Vera has been cremated. She will be missed by family and friends in Canada and Australia. Rest in peace Vera.
