MARIA DA CONCEICAO ELEUTERIO DE BARROS
1921-2014
It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Barros announce her passing on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the St. Boniface Hospital.
With family at her side she peacefully left us to be with the Lord.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Lourenco Teixeira De Barros, son Antonio Barros (Ana), daughters Grace Ferreira (Joao), Maria Cabral, Fatima Barros (Robert Adams).
Maria also leaves behind her grandchildren, Paul Ferreira (Connie), David Ferreira (Jennifer), Raymon Cabral (Cristina), Christopher Cabral (Christine), Nicholas Barros-Adams (Daniella), Adriana Barros (Tom), Michael Ferreira, Nelson Barros, Brittany Barros-Adams, Andrea Barros, and great-grandchildren, Abigail Ferreira, Elliot Ferreira, Madelyn Ferreira, Isabela Cabral, Ciera Cabral, Grayson Ferreira, and Tiago Cabral.
A brother Humberto Eleuterio (Sophia) and sister Alice Moreira (Joao) will also be left behind.
She also leaves behind nieces, nephews and cousins in Portugal and United States. She was predeceased by her mother Louisa and father Antonio, brothers Antonio in Venezuela and Fernando in Portugal and Laurenio in Winnipeg.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Parish 181 Austin Street North. Interment will follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street.
A special thanks to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, and the homecare workers from Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, which showed Maria and family kindness and compassion during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
