SAMUEL OMER
It is with deep sorrow and with his family by his side; we announce the passing of Sam Omer after his courageous battle with cancer at the Concordia Hospital on May 7, 2014.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janet; sons Neil (Shauna, with children Sabrina, Courtney and Samara), Dean (Mandy, with children Brooke, Dallas, Jay and Olivia), Kevin (Sarah, with children Macie and Tavin); his father Sobhi (Lutfie); siblings John (Cathy), Eva, Alec (Mona), Ahmed (Anita), Abe, Illham (Glen), Michael, Joe (Monica), Fred, Sadie (Eric), Ab (Shirley), Wayne (Adela); extended family Len (Denise) and Nadine (Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews. Sam was also great uncle to many nieces and nephews that he cherished, along with many friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Sadie; stepmother Emnie; mother and father-in-law Olga and Alex Grymek and brother-in-law Larry Grymek.
Sam worked at Birchwood Ford (formerly known as Keystone Ford/Dominion Motors) for many years until he was diagnosed with lung cancer in March of 2013.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 12 at 12:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment will follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. Pallbearers will be Cory, Ryan and Kyle Cleary, John and Wayne Omer and Len Grymek.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
