Obituary of BERNICE WERESCHUK

BERNICE WERESCHUK Bernice was born to John and Francis Gramiak on May 3, 1927 in Poland and later immigrated to Canada at the age of 7 in 1934. She married George Wereschuk on October 14, 1944 and together raised four sons, Stanley, Melvin, Donald, and Paul; and two daughters, Donna and Deborah. She took pride in speaking about Stanley and his passion for airplanes and hot air balloons, Melvin for his work in the electrical industry field, Donald for working hard as a plumber, Paul for taking on the funeral industry and showing his compassionate side to others during times of sorrow, Donna for her dedication working for the RCMP, and Deborah for taking on a career in challenging retail. Besides being a homemaker and raising her children, Bernice worked in several occupations from caregiver, store clerk, and custodian. Bernice enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, cake decorating, flower arranging, knitting, and crocheting. She always took pride in her accomplishments. Bernice loved her Ukrainian heritage and passed on these traditions and values to her children. During the last 5 years of her life, Bernice resided at the Maples Personal Care Home. She was known by the staff and residents for her acts of kindness and helping hand. It was not unusual to see her helping another resident at the dinner table or in other times of need. Bernice loved to joke around with the staff. Bernice will be remembered by family and friends in many kind and loving ways.
