Obituary of SOPHIE MUROVEC

SOPHIE MUROVEC 1938 – 2014 At dawn on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Sophie Murovec, age 76, unexpectedly passed away with her two children at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley (1984) and twin son Dennis (1988). Far too soon she leaves behind her daughter Margaret (Victor), two grandchildren, Mark and Allison and her remaining twin son Robert. Sophie and Stanley immigrated to Canada in 1958, both originating from Slovenia. Settling in Winnipeg they built a life for themselves from the ground up through hard work and determination. They created and shared many happy times together over the years, especially on family vacations. Before her health failed, Sophie always looked forward to her winter holiday get-a-ways, first with her husband then with her girlfriends. In later years it was her two grandchildren that gave her the most pleasure and joy. Having them over to her condo for sleepovers and watching them swim in the pool. Many warm memories were made on those hot summer afternoons and the day always ended with an ice cream Revel or Fudgsicle bar. Sophie will be terribly missed and forever remembered by family and friends that she so loved and treasured. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 95 MacDonald Ave. Service will conclude at the Church.
